# Active Users daily (DAU)

Shows the number of unique users on one single day.

The acronym **DAU** means "daily active users" (which is a common term in the international web analytics community).

Calculation is done similarly to the metric "visitors", which is shown for one single day.

> This metric can only be used for the dimension "Days".

Further information can be found in the training chapter on [Basic Metrics](/v1/docs/analyses-2-basic-metrics).
