Overview

Message Statistics provide insight into how your campaigns perform across delivery, engagement, and (if configured) conversion metrics. This guide explains how to access and interpret statistics for different message types in Mapp Engage.

Statistics are available for:

  • Group messages (e.g. newsletters)

  • Single messages (e.g. automated or triggered messages)

  • Split sendouts

  • SuperMessages

Step 1: Open the Message Overview

To review sent messages:

  1. Navigate to Statistics > Group Messages (or the relevant message type).

  2. Select the appropriate channel (e.g. Email).

  3. Locate the message in the overview list.

The overview provides high-level metrics such as:

  • Message name and status

  • Send date

  • Audience segment

  • Accepted and bounced messages

  • Open rate

  • Click-through rate (CTR)

This view allows you to quickly compare multiple sendouts.

Step 2: Open Detailed Message Statistics

To analyze a specific message:

  1. Select the message in the overview.

  2. Open the detailed statistics view.

The detailed view typically includes the following sections.

Message Information

Provides general metadata, such as:

  • Message name

  • Send date and time

  • Audience segment

  • Message status

Delivery Performance

Delivery metrics help you evaluate technical sendout quality and deliverability.

Typical metrics include:

  • Messages Sent

  • Accepted

  • Bounced

  • Skipped

  • Accepted Rate

These indicators show whether messages were successfully delivered to recipient servers.

Recipient Activity

Engagement metrics show how recipients interacted with the message.

Typical metrics include:

  • Confirmed Open Rate

  • Unique Openers

  • Confirmed Opens

  • Clickers

  • Click-to-Open Rate (CTO)

  • Click-Through Rate (CTR)

  • Total Clicks

When analyzing engagement, consider the difference between:

  • Unique values (number of individual recipients)

  • Total values (including repeated actions)

Additional Analysis Options

Depending on the message type and configuration, additional sections may be available.

Conversions

If conversion tracking is enabled, a Conversions section provides insight into whether recipients completed defined goals (e.g. purchases or registrations).

Conversion attribution depends on the selected calculation method (for example, last click or last activity). Refer to the Statistics Basics documentation for details on attribution logic.

Comparative Views

For split sendouts or variation-based campaigns, additional comparison views may be available to evaluate performance across different versions of a message.

Single Message Statistics

Automated or triggered messages are evaluated separately from group messages. While the available KPIs are similar, interpretation may differ because recipients can receive the same single message multiple times.

How to Interpret Results

When evaluating message performance, consider:

  • Delivery metrics to assess deliverability

  • Engagement metrics to assess content effectiveness

  • Conversion metrics to assess business impact

  • Campaign context (goal, audience size, message type)

For detailed definitions of KPIs and calculation logic, refer to the relevant Statistics Basics documentation.
