    Barcodes Overview (window)​

    In the ​Barcodes Overview​ window, you can create new barcodes and edit, view, or copy existing barcodes.

    Available Information (columns of the table)​

    Information

    Description

    ​Name​

    This column displays the name of the barcode. The name identifies the barcode within the system. Each barcode must have a unique name.

    ​Type​

    This column displays the type of barcode (see ​Supported Barcode Types​).

    • EAN-13:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • ​Code 39:​ Linear, alpha-numeric barcode.

    • ​UPC-A:​ Linear, numeric barcode.a

    • UPC-E:​ Linear, compressed, numeric barcode.

    • EAN-128:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • EAN-8:​ Linear, compressed, numeric barcode.

    • Code 128:​ Linear, alpha-numeric barcode.

    • ​Codabar:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • QR Code:​ Two dimensional barcode.

    • ​Interleaved 2 of 5:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • POSTNET:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • ​PDF417:​ Two dimensional barcode, suitable for large amounts of data.

    • Data Matrix:​ Two dimensional barcode, suitable for codes on small surfaces.

    • Royal Mail-cbc:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    • ​UPS 4cb Intelligent Mail:​ Linear, numeric barcode.

    ​Format​

    This column displays the image file format of the barcode.

    • ​GIF:​ Graphics Interchange Format is a bitmap file format which provides lossless data compression.

    • JPG:​ Common image file format which uses lossy data compression. At high levels of compression, image quality may be affected.

    • PNG:​ Portable Network Graphic is a raster graphic format which uses lossless data compression.

    ​Owner​

    This column displays the owner of the barcode. Depending on how permissions are configured in the Engage system, either all barcodes in the system display, or just the barcodes that the user owns. The user who creates the barcode is automatically the owner.

    ​Creation Date​

    This column displays the date on which the barcode was created.

    ​New Barcode​

    This button opens the ​Create New Barcode​ window.

    ​Show​

    This drop-down list limits the display based on the status of the barcode.

    • ​Active:​ This list item displays all currently active barcodes. Only active barcodes can be added to a message.

    • ​Archived:​ This list item displays all currently archived barcodes. Archived barcodes cannot be added to a message. A barcode must be archived before it can be deleted.

    ​Action​

    This menu displays the actions that are available for the barcode:

    • > Edit:​ This item opens the selected barcode in the ​Edit Barcode​ window. In this window it is possible to edit the basic settings, content and layout of the barcode.

    • > ​Copy:​ This item opens a copy of the barcode in the ​Copy Barcode​ window. In this window it is possible to edit the basic settings, content and layout of the barcode. The copy of the barcode is automatically named ​Copy_<name of the original barcode>​. This name should usually be edited. Every barcode must have a unique name.

    ​Remove filter​

    This button deactivates the filters that are currently active. All available barcodes are once again displayed.

    ​Filter​

    This button filters the displayed barcodes according to the entered criteria.

    ​Sort​

    The  arrows in the overview sort the contents of the column.

    Number of visible rows​

    This drop-down list adjusts the number of barcodes that display per page (10, 20, 50 or 100 messages).

    ​Arrows​

    The  arrows below the overview table are used to browse between pages. The arrows only appear when the number of available barcodes exceeds the number of visible rows that is selected.

    ​Select All​

    This checkbox selects all visible barcodes. Selected barcodes can be archived, reactivated, or deleted.
