Goal
Automatically reactivate or remove deactivated contacts after a defined number of days.
Background Information
Mapp Engage allows you to automate how deactivated contacts are managed over time. Depending on your configuration, contacts can either be:
Removed from the group after a set number of days
Reactivated at the group or system level
Deactivating a contact in any group also marks them as system-wide deactivated. This safety mechanism helps prevent sending to problematic addresses across your platform.
For details about how deactivation works, see the Deactivation Basics page.

FAQ
Can I apply automatic reactivation system-wide for all response categories?
No. This setting is only supported for Transient, Blocked, Unknown, and Communication Failure.
What are the risks of not configuring deactivation handling?
If no rule is defined, valid contacts may remain deactivated longer than necessary, potentially reducing engagement rates. However, leaving contacts inactive also reduces the risk of accidental messaging to problematic addresses. Consider your business goals and data quality when deciding.
