# Contact Import Report

## Overview

The contact import report provides detailed feedback on the outcome of a contact import. It helps verify whether contacts were added, updated, or removed successfully and highlights any errors that occurred during the import. This information is essential for validating data quality and identifying issues that require correction.

## Background Information

- A system message summarizing the import results is automatically sent after each import.
- The message contains a link to the contact import report.
- Each report link is valid for 14 days after the import.
- For manual imports, the message is sent to the system user who performed the import.
- For automated imports, the message is sent to the group owner and any users configured for notifications.

## Available Information

| **Information** | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Start Time** | Date and time when the import started. |
| **End Time** | Date and time when the import finished. |
| **Duration** | Total runtime of the import in seconds. |
| **Import Mode** | Defines how contacts from the file were imported into the group. |
| **Add Contact** | Indicates how imported contacts were notified about being added to the group. |
| **File Name** | Name of the imported file. |
| **File Type** | File format used for the import (XML or CSV). |
| **Fatal Error** | Displays the reason for a fatal error if the import failed. If no fatal error occurred, a dash (-) is shown. |
| **Last Processed** | Information about the last contact that was successfully processed. Useful for troubleshooting after a fatal error. |
| **Processed** | Total number of contacts processed during the import. |
| **Added** | Number of contacts that were added to the group. |
| **Updated** | Number of contacts whose profile data was updated. |
| **Deleted** | Number of contacts that were removed from the group. |
| **Errors** | Number of contacts that could not be processed due to errors. Errors do not stop the overall import process. |

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** Duplicate email addresses or mobile numbers are ignored automatically. This can result in differences between the number of processed contacts and values shown elsewhere in the report.

## Import File Statistics​

This section provides a detailed breakdown of the attributes included in the import file.

### Summary

An overview of attribute usage within the import file:

- **Contacts**: Total number of contacts in the file
- **Standard Attributes**: Number of standard attributes included
- **Custom Attributes**: Number of custom attributes included
- **Member Attributes**: Number of member attributes included
- **Boolean Attributes**: Number of attributes using Boolean values (true/false)

### Standard Attributes

Lists all standard attributes contained in the file.

- Shows how many contacts have a value set or not set for each attribute
- Displays individual values when an attribute contains 30 values or fewer
- Displays “more than 30 values” when the limit is exceeded

### Custom Attributes

Lists all custom attributes included in the file.

- Shows how many contacts have a value set or not set
- Displays individual values when 30 values or fewer are present
- Displays “more than 30 values” when the limit is exceeded

### Member Attributes

Lists all member attributes included in the file.

- Shows how many contacts have a value set or not set
- Displays individual values when 30 values or fewer are present
- Displays “more than 30 values” when the limit is exceeded

## Actions​

The following actions are available at the bottom of the report. An action is only visible if the corresponding data exists.

| **Action** | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Additions** | Downloads a CSV file containing all contacts added during the import. Contacts are identified by email address or mobile number. |
| **Updates** | Downloads a CSV file containing all contacts updated during the import. Contacts are identified by email address or mobile number. |
| **Deleted** | Downloads a CSV file containing all contacts deleted during the import. Contacts are identified by email address or mobile number. |
| **Errors** | Downloads a CSV file listing all contacts that could not be processed, including the reason for each error. |
| **Statistics** | Downloads an XML file containing all attribute data included in the import. |

> [!NOTE]
> **Note:** CSV files with more than 65,537 rows cannot be opened in Microsoft Excel due to row limitations. In this case, change the file extension from `.csv` to `.txt` and open the file with another application.
