# Coupon Lists Overview

## Overview

Create and manage coupon lists used to personalize messages in Engage. Each list holds individual codes that can be used to offer discounts or other incentives.

## Settings

| Setting | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | Unique identifier (max. 200 characters). Must be lowercase with no spaces or special characters. Cannot be changed after creation. |
| **Owner** | User who created the list. Determines visibility and can be reassigned. |
| **Available Coupons** | Number of unused coupons remaining. Updated as coupons are used. |
| **Last Updated** | Date of last coupon import, or creation date if none added yet. |
| **Description** | Optional internal note to clarify purpose. |
| **Alternative Text** | Shown when the list runs out of coupons. Prevents sendout failure. |
| **Preview Text** | Placeholder used in test and preview messages. Defaults to the list name followed by `_previewCoupon` if not set. |
| **Reminder** | Optional alert triggered when remaining coupon count drops below a threshold. |
| **ID** | Internal system-generated identifier. |

## Actions

| Action | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Create** | Create a list and upload coupons via TXT or CSV. |
| **Show (Active / Archived)** | Filters view. Only active lists can be used in new messages. |
| **Edit** | Adjust list description, reminder settings, and behavior when coupons run low. |
| **Change Owner** | Reassign the list to a different user. |
| **Copy** | Duplicate list structure (without coupons). |
| **Import** | Add new coupons to an existing list. |
| **Archive** | Deactivate list. Must be archived before deletion. |
| **Reactivate** | Make an archived list usable again. |
| **Delete** | Permanently remove an archived list. Cannot be undone. If referenced in a message, the sendout will fail. |

## Details Panel (List Preview Area)

The panel appears automatically when you select a list in the main table. It provides quick reference info without needing to open the list.

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Description** | Helpful when managing multiple lists. Appears only if a description was added during setup or editing. |
| **Alternative Text** | Displayed when all coupons are used up. Ensures the message still sends. |
| **Preview Text** | Used for test and preview messages. Helps simulate a real message flow without using actual codes. |
| **Reminder** | Shows whether a low-supply reminder is set and when it's triggered. Possible values: **Off** or e.g. **100 Coupons Left**. |
| **ID** | Internal system ID for reference. Auto-generated and not editable. |

## Additional Information

- **Sendout Behavior**: Archived lists continue to function in scheduled sendouts. Deleted lists break sendouts that reference them.
- **Test Messages**: Test and preview messages never use real coupons. Use *Preview Text* to define what’s shown.
