Prev Next

Goal

Create geofencing locations and location clusters for Mobile Push Notifications in Mapp Engage.

Prerequisites

  1. The relevant Mapp SDK is integrated with your mobile applications.

  2. Location Management is enabled in your Engage system. Contact your account manager if it is not enabled.

Create a Location

  1. In the main navigation, go to Audience > Location Manager.

  2. Click Create Location.

  3. In Step 1. Info, enter a unique Name and an optional Description, then click Next.

  4. In Step 2. Configure, define the location address, and set the Diameter (maximum 500 m), then click Next.

  5. In Step 3. Cluster, choose one option:

    • None

    • Add to an existing cluster and select one or more clusters

    • Add to new cluster and create a cluster

  6. Click Next.

  7. In Step 4. Delivery, set activation details:

    • Start date, time, and time zone

    • Activate the Schedule deactivation toggle (optional)

    • Define Repetition: Daily or Custom (select specific days and define the activation period)

  8. Click Next.

  9. In Step 5. Summary, review the configuration. Use Previous to adjust if needed, then click Save.

  10. Click Activate.

  11. Click Close to return to the overview.

Create a Location Cluster

Create a cluster from the Clusters tab to group locations together.

  1. In the main navigation, go to Audience > Location Manager.

  2. Open the Clusters tab.

  3. Click Create Cluster.

  4. In Create Cluster, enter a unique Name. Optionally add a Description.

  5. Click Create.

When created in the Clusters tab, the new cluster doesn't contain any locations.

Note

You can also create a cluster inline while configuring a location. In Step 3. Cluster of the location wizard, choose Add to new cluster and enter a name and optionally a description. A cluster created this way contains one location. See Create a Location above.
