Customize layout, format, fallback, and display settings to suit your messages. --- ## Navigation Path 1. *Content > Voucher Manager > Barcodes* 2. Click **Create**. --- ## Settings | Setting | Description | | --- | --- | | **Name** | Name of the barcode. Must be unique in the system. | | **Description** | Optional text to describe the barcode, useful when multiple barcodes exist. | | **Domain** | Domain of the barcode. Select one if several domains are available in your system. | | **Barcode Type** | Defines the barcode format. Options include linear (for example EAN, Code 128) and 2D (for example QR Code, PDF417). See [Barcode Types](/v1/docs/supported-barcode-types). | | **Data Source** | Determines where the encoded data comes from: - **Single Input**: Uses a fixed value. The barcode is the same for all recipients and is not tracked. Only barcodes with this data source can be saved as a content element (see [Use a Content Store Element in an Email](/v1/docs/use-a-content-element-in-an-email)). - **Coupon List**: Uses codes from a selected list. If no codes are available, the **Alternative Barcode** is used. The behavior follows the list settings (see [Create New Coupon List](/v1/docs/create-new-coupon-list-window)). You can search coupon lists by name, ID, description, owner, or last updated date. - **Attributes**: Uses the value of a custom attribute of the contact. If the value is missing, the **Alternative Barcode** is used. If that is empty, the message is skipped for this contact. You can search attributes by name. | | **Data to Encode** | The data for the barcode. Depending on the data source, enter the fixed value or select the coupon list or the attribute. | | **Alternative Barcode** | Fallback value used when the coupon list has no codes left or the attribute is empty. | | **Display Text** | Shows human-readable text on the barcode. Options: `None`, `Top`, `Bottom`. Only shown for compatible types. | | **Font Size** | Font size for the displayed text (8 to 20 px). | | **Font** | Font used for the human-readable text. | | **Bar Height** | Height of each bar in linear barcodes (min. 1 px). | | **Bar Width** | Width of each bar in linear barcodes (min. 1 px). | | **Module Size** | Size of individual modules in 2D barcodes (min. 1 px). | | **Bar Ratio** | Ratio of short to tall bars for POSTNET barcodes. Default: 0.4. | | **Quiet Zone** | Margin around the barcode for scan accuracy. Default: 5 px (min. 1 px). | | **Format** | Image file format: `GIF`, `JPG`, or `PNG`. | | **Preview Text** | Shown in preview and test messages instead of the actual barcode. Can be customized in the *Preview* view. | --- ## Actions | Action | Description | | --- | --- | | **Preview** | Opens the preview window with editable preview text. | | **Save** | Generates and saves the barcode. The barcode appears in the *Barcodes Overview* and in the **Barcode** category of Mapp Engage Variables (see [Add a Barcode to a Message](/v1/docs/add-a-barcode-to-a-message)). | | **Save as Content Element** | Available for the data source **Single Input** only. Saves the barcode to the Content Store (see [Use a Content Store Element in an Email](/v1/docs/use-a-content-element-in-an-email)). | | **Cancel** | Discards changes and returns to the overview. |
