# Create New Content Element Category

## Goal​

To create a new Content Element Category.

## Procedure

1. In the main navigation menu, click ​*Administration​ > Categories​ >* *Content Element*.
2. Click **Create**.
3. Enter a name for the category in the ​**Name**field.
4. Optionally, enter a description for the category in the **Description**field.
5. Click ​**Save**.

A system message informs you that the new category has been successfully created.
