# Requirements & Compatibility

## Supported OS versions

- Android 6.0 or later (API level 23 or higher).

> **Please note:**
> 
> The SDK only supports native Android applications written in Kotlin or Java. Older Android baselines below API 23 are no longer supported.

## Languages and toolchain

- **Languages:** Kotlin or Java.
- **JDK:** 17.
- **Min SDK:** API 23 (Android 6.0) or higher.
- **Android libraries:** AndroidX is required.

## Development environment

The SDK can be integrated using any development environment. We recommend using [Android Studio](https://developer.android.com/studio).

We offer installation via the following package source:

- [Maven Central](https://central.sonatype.com/artifact/com.mapp.sdk/intelligence-android) (artifact `com.mapp.sdk:intelligence-android`)

Internally, the SDK uses **AndroidX** and **WorkManager** for background request delivery, and persists requests in a database. Your build environment should therefore match a current Android Gradle and Java toolchain configuration.
