Mapp Engage offers five Email CMS frameworks. This page explains how they differ, how to identify the framework of your template, and which blocks you can use with it.
Available Frameworks
Three of the frameworks form a line of development in which each version replaced the one before: QuickStart, QuickStart 2023 and CMS 2.0. The current version is CMS 2.0. It is the most widely used and the recommended choice for new email templates.
CMS 2.0, CORP 1.0 B2C and CORP 1.0 B2B are all current. The two CORP frameworks are not newer versions of CMS 2.0. They are variations for different types of communication:
CORP 1.0 B2C: For corporate brands that communicate with consumers, such as banks, utilities and service providers. The tone is professional, and the block set keeps the richer functionality of consumer-focused emails.
CORP 1.0 B2B: For emails that are mainly business to business. Because these emails are often forwarded within companies, the code is simple, predictable and resilient. It does not include interactive blocks.
The following table shows the names used for each framework and its block folder.
Framework | Status | Framework name | Folder name |

Identify Your Framework
When a system is set up, the framework name, the block folder and the block names match the framework. To check which framework a template uses:
Go to Content > Email > Email Templates and open your template.
Click the information icon in the header area.
Check the Framework field in the General section.
You find the matching block folders in the Components tab of the template editor.
Note
QuickStart and QuickStart 2023 use the same folder name. Use the framework name to tell them apart.
Frameworks are adapted to your branding, so names can differ in some systems, for example when several brands are managed in one system. If you are not sure which framework you use, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Use Matching Blocks
Use only blocks that belong to the framework of your template. Do not rename the framework or the block folders, because the names show which blocks belong together.
Warning
Do not mix blocks from different frameworks unless Mapp has confirmed that they are compatible.
Move to CMS 2.0
The framework of a template cannot be changed after the template is saved. To move from an older framework to CMS 2.0, contact your Customer Success Manager to discuss the options.
