# Filter

Each contact follows a unique path depending on the criteria that are defined in the filter. The number of paths is not limited. You can use the![](https://cdn.document360.io/554b9b98-6720-4d8b-9919-c7b203d72648/Images/Documentation/034e6001-9ef0-4141-abfa-32360d08a539.png) symbol to drag and drop paths to change their order. If you move a path all of its subsequent steps are also moved! For example, if you drag a negative path into the field of the positive path, it retains its structure. However, the logic changes to match the new conditions.

You can also change the split-step type at any time. If you change a step with multiple paths to have fewer paths, the system adds a **​**split decision field to the updated step. Choose the paths that you want to keep from the drop-down list.
