# Generate and Edit Exports Manually

### Goal

Run an export on demand, or edit an existing export's configuration, directly from the Exports overview screen.

### Generating an Export

Run an export on demand and deliver the file to the configured destination without waiting for a scheduled execution.

> Important
> 
> Export generation is asynchronous. Depending on the data volume, processing may take several minutes.
> 
> If the file does not appear at the destination, verify the export configuration and server settings.

#### Procedure

1. Go to *Data Management > Exports*.
2. Locate the export you want to run.
3. Click **Generate** in the Actions column. The system begins generating the export file and uploads it to the configured server location.

#### When to Use Manual Generation

Use manual generation when you need to:

- Access data immediately
- Validate a new export configuration
- Run an export outside its regular schedule

### Editing an Export

Modify an existing export's configuration without creating a new export.

> [!WARNING]
> Important
> 
> Changes affect future exports only. Previously generated files remain unchanged.
> 
> If the export is used in automated workflows or data pipelines, validate significant changes before relying on the updated configuration.

#### Procedure

1. Go to *Data Management > Exports*.
2. Locate the export you want to modify.
3. Click **Edit** in the Actions column.
4. Update the configuration in the wizard and click **Save**.
