Handling Media Code Levels in Automatic Campaign Creation

Prev Next

Q: What happens if, in the media code, more levels are passed than there are in the campaign tree for automatic campaign creation?

A: When more levels are included in the media code than exist in the campaign tree, the system sorts the Ad media into categories based on the automatic channel definition. The values are processed from the end towards the beginning, and any excess levels are cut off. The Ad media name still reflects the complete media code.

  • Example: The mediacode contains 6 levels, but only 5 campaign categories are defined.

    • Configuration automatic campaign tracking:

    • Assigned categories
”2018” is not assigned to a category!

Q: What happens if, in the media code, fewer levels are passed than there are in the campaign tree for automatic campaign creation?

A: If fewer levels are included in the media code, the system sorts the Ad media based on the automatic channel definition from the beginning to the end. Empty levels are filled with a “–”. The Ad media name will still display the complete media code.

  • Example: The mediacode contains 3 levels, but 5 campaign categories are defined.

    • Mediacode:

    • Configuration automatic campaign tracking:

    • Assigned categories

      “Campaign Category 4 - Subtype” doesn’t contain a value.
