Goal
Import a Content Management System (CMS) message from a connected Mapp Engage system for use in your current Mapp Engage environment.
Background Information
CMS messages in Mapp Engage are based on a master template and do not require HTML knowledge. They support:
Consistent corporate design
Personalization and customization
Translations across languages
A CMS message can be reused for multiple campaigns and helps maintain brand consistency.
Prerequisites
A separate, connected Mapp Engage system
Permission 160: System Administration: Create and Edit Transfer Security Records
A CMS Account record must be set up in the Transfer Security area
Procedure
Go to:
Create New > Message > Email Message > HTML Email, or
Messages > Draft Messages > Email > Edit, or
Messages > Prepared Messages > Email > Edit
Follow the email creation process until you reach Step 2 - Content.
Click Upload Message.
In the Upload section, select the CMS Message.
Select the CMS Account from which you are importing from the drop-down list.
Click Select CMS Message.
Click the select icon next to the desired CMS message.
Click Import.
The selected CMS message content and settings are imported into Step 2: Content of the message creation wizard. You can customize the imported message if needed (e.g., personalization, scheduling).
Best Practices
Avoid overwriting existing content: Importing a CMS message replaces all current settings and content in the message wizard. If reuse is not intended, create a new message.
Always include a plain text version: Ensures compatibility with clients that cannot render HTML.
Use filters in the Select CMS Message window: To narrow down the list of available messages by name or creation date.
