# Message Creation: Info (In-App)

### Overview

Use the **Info** step to define internal metadata for your in-app message. This data helps you manage and identify messages in Mapp Engage but is not visible to your app users.

| **Setting** | **Description** |
| --- | --- |
| **Name** | Required internal name used to identify the message in Mapp Engage. Not shown to app users. |
| **Description** | Optional text to provide internal context or explain the purpose of the message. |
