Overview

Use the In-App Messages section to manage all mobile in-app notifications from one place. You can create new messages, update drafts, activate or deactivate campaigns, and review completed sendouts. The interface provides clear filters and action menus to help you track message lifecycle and audience targeting.

Setting

Description

Name

Internal message name used in Mapp Engage. Not visible to app users.

ID

System-generated unique identifier for the message.

App

Specifies the app through which the message is delivered.

Type

Defines how the message is delivered: “In-App” for real-time overlays, “In-Box” for inbox storage, or “In-App and In-Box” for both.

Status

Current lifecycle stage: “Active,” “Draft,” “Scheduled,” or “Completed.”

Target Audience

Segment or contact selection to which the message is sent.

Event

User or system event that triggers the message (defined during message setup).

Author

User who created the message.

Last Changed

Timestamp of the last modification.

Actions

Contextual options for managing each message, such as edit, clone, delete, deactivate, or view statistics (availability depends on message status).

Create Message

Opens the In-App Message Creation flow.

Show Archive

Displays archived messages; allows reactivation.

Message Actions

Edit

Opens message for editing (only available for “Draft” or “Scheduled” messages).

View

Opens message in read-only mode (for “Active” or “Completed” messages).

Clone

Creates a copy of the message with a new unique ID.

Delete

Removes the message (only allowed for Drafts and Scheduled). Completed messages must be archived.

Activate

Publishes the message. It remains active until deactivated.

Schedule Deactivation

Defines when the message should stop triggering.

Deactivate Now

Immediately stops message delivery.

Archive

Moves the message to the archive. Use Show Archive to view or reactivate.

View Statistics

Opens the analytics view. Only available for “Completed” messages.


Additional Information

  • Active messages continue triggering unless explicitly deactivated. If no deactivation is set, any matching conditions will cause the message to be sent again.

  • Completed messages cannot be modified or deleted. They can only be viewed or archived.

  • Editing is only possible before the message sendout begins.
