Insert Related Data Records Into Messages

Goal
To insert data that is stored in Related Data into a message.
Prerequisite
The Related Data function is ready to be used:
You have created related data sets, see Create Related Data Set.
You have columns in the related data set, see Import Data: Create Columns of Related Data Sets During Import.
Data is saved in the related data set, see Import Data Into Related Data Set.
Background Information
When using the CMS, data from Related Data can currently only be inserted into text fields within paragraphs. If data from related data are used to personalize paragraphs, this function is predefined in the CMS template. The paragraph only appears when certain information that is saved in the related data sets apply to a specific recipient).
The rules that determine when a paragraph is displayed are defined in the CMS. You cannot change these rules. If you would like changes to be made to your CMS template, contact your Account Manager.
Procedure
Create the message into which the data is inserted.
⇒ The message can be created with or without the CMS.Insert a placeholder at the location where the data from the related data set is inserted.
If you want to create the placeholder yourself, you can find detailed information about placeholders at Inserting Data From a Related Data Set Into a Message.
If an Account Manager stored the placeholder as a personalization rule in your system, you can drag & drop the personalization into your message from the personalization slider.
If you need additional placeholders, contact your Account Manager.
