# Mapp Connect: Option to Skip Unsubscribers during User Import

**18 September 2024** Managing your contacts’s subscriptions is now much easier. With the new skipUnsubscribers parameter, you can filter out anyone who might have decided they no longer wish to receive updates from you using Mapp Connect.

## Key Benefits

Much like in Mapp Engage, when syncing customers, you can optionally check if any contacts on your list have unsubscribed. This will help keep you from accidentally re-subscribing contacts to communication they don’t want and avoid compliance issues.

## How does it work?

1. Get a CSV file from one of your Connect integrations, like Shopify, to sync your contacts.
2. Ensure there is a **skipUnsubscribe** header.
  1. If you fill out the parameter with **TRUE**, there will be a check to see if the contact has unsubscribed.
  2. If you don’t fill out the cell for each contact or fill it out as **FALSE**, the check for unsubscription will not be run.
3. Use the CSV to add all relevant contacts****to your group.
4. If unsubscribed contacts are checked with **skipUnsubscribe = TRUE**, they will not be readded to the group.

This feature is being rolled out as part of our September launch, which went live on September 18th.
