Mapp Engage: Shopify 2.8.0

Prev Next

This release expands the customer data available in Engage and updates the Shopify integration to the latest Shopify platform version.

Summary of Changes

New customer data

The plugin now sends five additional customer fields: smsMarketingState, emailMarketingState, isSmsSubscriber, totalSpent, and totalSpentCurrency. Once you add them to the user mapping of your Shopify integration, you can segment contacts by their email and SMS consent status and by their lifetime spend. The fields are not part of the default mapping, so you need to add them manually. Changes to the SMS opt-in status of a customer now also trigger a customer update, so SMS consent stays in sync with Engage. For the field descriptions and the mapping, see Engage Integration.

More reliable abandoned cart function

A temporary authorization error no longer stops the abandoned cart function. The plugin now removes the abandoned cart job only after 24 hours of continuous failures. To re-enable the job, save your Engage settings in the plugin.

Simplified plugin interface

The Mapp Intelligence page and its script tag setup have been removed from the plugin, and the Mapp Engage page is now the start page. The legacy export flow has also been removed.

Shopify platform update

The plugin now uses Shopify Admin API version 2026-07 and the current Shopify libraries, so the integration stays compatible with Shopify's latest requirements. It also supports Shopify's new expiring offline access tokens. Existing tokens are migrated automatically and refreshed in the background, so you don't need to do anything. The bulk export now reads email address, phone number, and marketing consent from Shopify's current customer fields, which replace the deprecated ones.

Availability

Version 2.8.0 is rolled out on 20 October 2026 and is automatically available to all customers using the plugin.
