# Mapp Intelligence: Better Visibility for Custom Figure Descriptions

**17 Nov 2023** Descriptions of custom metrics and formulas are now visible to all users in the **Configure Metric** window within an analysis or report.

## Key Benefits

By making the descriptions visible to your entire team, you ensure they're used correctly because everyone understands the logic behind the custom metrics and formulas.

## How does it work?

If the description of the custom figure has been added by the metric author, it will also be visible in the new **Description** field in the metric or formula configuration.

1. In an analysis, right-click on a figure to open the context menu.
2. Click **Configure metric**.
3. The new **Description** field appears in the Configure Metric window.
