# Mapp Intelligence: Category-Based Dispatch Schedule Permissions

**24 June 2026** Role permissions for managing report dispatch schedules can now be assigned per report category. Previously, this permission applied to a role across all reports. Administrators can now grant it for specific categories, so a role only manages the dispatch schedules of the reports it is responsible for.

## How does it work?

In *User Management > Roles*, when creating or editing a role, two separate settings control dispatch-schedule management:

- *Allow management of dispatch schedules for selected report categories*, in the **Report Access Configuration** section, grants the permission only for the categories assigned to the role.
- *Allow management of dispatch schedules for all reports*, in the **Advanced features access configuration** section, grants the permission for every report the role can view.

The global setting takes precedence: when it is enabled, the role can manage dispatch schedules for all viewable reports, regardless of the categories selected. A report must be viewable for its dispatch schedule to be managed. If both settings are disabled, the role cannot manage dispatch schedules.

## What changes for existing roles?

Existing roles keep their current behavior. Where dispatch-schedule management was already enabled, the role now has *Allow management of dispatch schedules for all reports* turned on and continues to manage all viewable reports as before. No reconfiguration is required. You can switch a role to category-based management whenever it fits your setup.
