# Media Views

**Shows how often a media session was started.**

A session is started by the `init` event, or by the first `play` event if no `init` was sent before, since a first "play" without a preceding "init" starts a new session automatically.

Player actions sent before any `init` or `play` event are not tracked. Initialization must occur before playback for the view to be counted.
