# Sending & Automation

This section covers how and when messages are sent: the types of sendouts, rules that apply before a sendout, automatically sent system messages, and automated campaigns.

In Mapp Engage, you find the functions for prepared, scheduled, and sent messages in the main menu under *Messages*, for example *Messages > Prepared Messages* or *Messages > Outbox*.
