# Region

**Shows the regions from which users accessed the website.**

> The region is determined based on the visitor's IP address.

Every user is assigned to a fixed dial-in node, which can lead to inaccuracies. If the region cannot be determined, for example because IP addresses are configured to be deleted completely in the system configuration under **Data Collection**, the report shows "unknown" instead of a region name.

Umlauts are not displayed in region names (example: instead of "ä" the system shows "a").
