# Related Data: Delete Records

This job deletes records from a related data set after a certain number of days. This is used to clear related data sets of data that is no longer needed.

The records are deleted permanently. The data cannot be restored.

## Basic Settings​

| **​Name​** | This input field defines the name of the automation. The name is used to identify the automation in the system. It appears on the ​Time-based Automations Overview​ window. The maximum length is 100 characters. |

| **​Description​** | This input field defines a description of the automation. The description makes it easier to identify the automation in the system. |

## Define Job

This area defines the specific parameters of the job.

- **Related Data Set:** This drop-down list defines the related data set from which the data is deleted.
- **System Name:** This drop-down list selects the system. If the system has multiple domains they are listed here. Any available domain can be chosen. The automation is not affected by the domain selection.
- **Delete After (Days):** This input field defines the number of days after which related data is deleted. This field only accepts numerical values between 1 and 365.
- **Time Zone:** This field defines the time zone of the automation. The related data records are deleted according to this time zone.

## Schedule

| **Schedule** | This button saves your changes and opens the ​Schedule Time-based Automation​ window. Here you define the date and time of execution. For more information, see [Schedule Time-Based Automation (window)​](/v1/docs/schedule-time-based-automation-window). |
