How can I reset my Desktop Browser Cache?

If a page is not displaying as intended, notably, text seems jumbled, or expected data does not appear in the browser, you may need to reset your browser cache.

There are times when a page may not display as intended due to changes made on the remote web server that your local browser may ignore due to having cached (saved) data within the browser cache to accelerate page loading.

This document covers desktop browsers, not mobile device browsers.

Chrome

  1. Click on the three-dot menu on the top right of the menu bar.

  2. Click on Delete browsing data.

  3. Select Advanced tab.

  4. Select Time Range: All time.

  5. Ensure that at least the following boxes are ticked:

    1. Cookies and other site data

    2. Cached images and files

    3. Site settings

  6. Click Delete data.

Once finished, close the browser completely and restart it.

Firefox

  1. Click on the three-bar menu on the top right of the menu bar.

  2. Click on History.

  3. Click on Clear recent history…

  4. Ensure that at least the following boxes are ticked:

    1. Cookes and site data

    2. Temporary cached files and pages

    3. Site settings

  5. Click Clear.

Once finished, close the browser completely and restart it.

Edge

  1. Select the three-dot settings and more menu in the top menu.

  2. Click on the Settings cog.

  3. Select the Privacy, Search and Services padlock.

  4. Select all time in the time range.

  5. Ensure that at least the following boxes are ticked:

    1. Cookies and other site data

    2. Cached images and files

    3. Site permissions

  6. Click Clear now.

Once finished, close the browser completely and restart it.

Safari

  1. In the top menu bar, click Safari > Settings to open the settings panel.

  2. Click the Privacy icon in the settings bar.

  3. Click the Manage Website Data button.

  4. You can either:

    1. Slect Remove all at the bottom of the popup window.

    2. Look up your delegated domain in the search box at the top of the popup window, then select the domain in the list, and click the Remove button.

Once finished, close the browser completely and restart it.
