# Send Birthday Reminder

## Scenario​

Increase the effectiveness of your birthday message by sending a reminder to contacts who didn't click on the original message. You send the reminder 7 days after the contact's birthday.

## Purpose​

- Increase the effectiveness of your birthday messages.
- Set your offer apart from competitors' birthday messages.
- Generate additional sales.

## How It Works​

A selection selects contacts whose birthday was 7 days ago and who haven't clicked on the birthday email. A time-based automation sends the message to the selection every day at the same time.

## Before You Start​

Create a whiteboard with a birthday sendout. See [Send Birthday Message​](/v1/docs/send-birthday-message).

In this scenario, you will add another job to the same whiteboard.

## Procedure​

This procedure has three parts.

A) Create the prepared message.

B) Create a selection that selects contacts whose birthday was 7 days ago and who have not clicked on the birthday email.

C) Create a time-based automation for daily sendout.

### A) Create the Message​

### B) Create a New Selection​

In the ​*Recipients​ > ​Selection*​ area, create a new selection with the following two conditions. Combine the conditions with **​and​**.

### C) Add Reminder to the Birthday Whiteboard​

1. In the ​Main Navigation​, click ​**Automation**​.
2. Open the whiteboard that contains your birthday sendout.
3. Drag a second ​**Time-based Job​** module onto the whiteboard.
4. Drag and drop between the ![](https://cdn.document360.io/554b9b98-6720-4d8b-9919-c7b203d72648/Images/Documentation/9b28912c-fe98-4c99-b7c7-28dd2769fab1.png) symbols to connect the modules as shown above.
5. Define the module settings as follows:

6. Click **​Next​**.
7. Define the desired time frame and notifications.
8. Click ​Activate​ to immediately activate the whiteboard. Only active whiteboards are executed by the system.

⇒ The whiteboard is saved and activated. The automation has the status ​Running​ if the start date is immediate and ​Scheduled​ if the start date is in the future.
