# Set Password for a System User

## Goal​

To set the password for another system user.

## Prerequisites​

- The system user exists in the system.
- You have permission to view and edit other system users: ​2000 System Administration: View and edit all system users​.
- You have the permission to change the password of another system user: ​209 User Administration: Edit password for any user account​.
- The system user account for which you want to set the password is assigned a system role that is ranked lower than your own.

## Procedure​

1. In the ​main navigation​, click ​*User Management​ > ​System Users*​.
2. Next to the system user, click ![](https://cdn.document360.io/554b9b98-6720-4d8b-9919-c7b203d72648/Images/Documentation/94637241-0dc3-46c7-a7b6-3d328d0c904b.png) *> ​Password*​.
3. Enter the new password in the ​New Password​ input field.
4. Enter the new password a second time in the ​Confirm Password​ input field.
5. Click the **​Save​**button. The password for the selected system user is set to the new password. Mapp Engage sends a system message to the email address of the system user with the new password.
