Setting Up Abandoned Browse Automation

Prev Next

Goal

Set up an event-based Whiteboard that sends an email to contacts who have browsed products and not yet removed them from the Abandoned Browse eCommerce table.

Prerequisites

Account Setup

  • Ensure that Mapp Engage and Mapp Intelligence accounts are connected.
  • Enable user matching between Mapp Intelligence and Engage (refer to Mapp Cloud User Matching).
  • Confirm that account settings are compatible with IPv6 and that tracking domains support it if applicable.

Tracking Pixel Configuration

  • Configure the tracking pixel (see Smart Pixel Setup & Configuration).
  • Integrate tracking for your website's customer behaviors (e.g., browse abandonment) using unique, consistent event names.

Mapp Engage

  • You can use either Product Catalog or Related Data to store product information. Ensure the eCommerce table Abandoned Browse and the Product Catalog / Related Data use the same product identifiers. In Mapp Engage, this identifier is represented by the productSKU column. In Mapp Intelligence, it is the ba parameter (productName).

  • Create a prepared message to use for the Abandoned Browse sendout via Whiteboards. For more information, see Prepared Messages.

Procedure

  1. Creating the Whiteboard

    • Navigate to Automations > Whiteboards in Mapp Engage.

    • Create a new event-based Whiteboard.

  2. Configuring the starting event

    • Select Abandoned Browse Table Event as the starting event.

    • Choose Product Added to Abandoned Browse Table.

    • Apply any additional conditions as needed.

This ensures that only contacts with products listed in the Abandoned Browse eCommerce table enter the Whiteboard campaign.

  3. Setting up the Whiteboard goal

    • In the SETUP section, add Abandoned Browse Table Event.

    • Select Product Removed from Abandoned Browse Table.

This ensures that the campaign stops for a contact as soon as the product is removed from the Abandoned Browse eCommerce table.

  4. Adding the Send Email Job

    • Add the Send Email job to the Whiteboard.

    • Select the prepared email message.

  5. Finalizing and activating the Whiteboard

    • Save the Whiteboard

    • Validate the configuration

    • Activate the Whiteboard.
