GDPR

When GDPR mode is enabled:

• No tracking occurs until the page visitor consents.

• No Mapp-related cookies are set before consent.

To ensure compliance:

1. Use the setting under Shopify Admin > Online Store > Preferences to manage tracking consent.
   

2. The Mapp Cloud script will not execute until a cookie named trackingconsent is set with a value like this:

   {"v":"2.0","lim":["GDPR"],"reg":"GDPR","con":{"GDPR":"1"}}

3. The encoded value of this object is:

   %7B%22v%22%3A%222.0%22%2C%22lim%22%3A%5B%22GDPR%22%5D%2C%22reg%22%3A%22GDPR%22%2C%22con%22%3A%7B%22GDPR%22%3A%221%22%7D%7D

You can use your own consent tool to set this cookie. Alternatively, the Shopify app Custom Privacy Banner can handle consent and start tracking after the visitor accepts the banner.
