If your Android SDK integration appears correct but no data shows up in Mapp Intelligence, this page helps you identify common issues and verify your setup. The items are grouped to guide you through the most likely causes first.
1. Configuration & Implementation Issues
These are the most frequent root causes. Always check them first:
Incorrect Track ID or Track Domain
Ensure that the trackIds and trackDomain match your Mapp Intelligence account credentials. If either is incorrect, tracking requests will not be attributed to your account and will not be visible.
SDK Not Properly Initialized
Confirm that the SDK is initialized early in the app lifecycle – typically in your Application class – and that no tracking methods are called before initialization.
Auto-Tracking Disabled but No Manual Tracking Used
If you have disabled auto-tracking (e.g., for activities or fragments), you must use trackPage() or similar methods to manually track user actions.
Consent Not Granted (If Applicable)
If your app uses a consent management platform, make sure consent has been granted before tracking begins. The SDK does not throw errors when tracking is silently blocked due to missing or denied consent.
2. Technical & Environmental Factors
These conditions may prevent the SDK from collecting or sending tracking data:
No Internet Connection
The SDK buffers tracking data when offline. Requests are sent automatically once connectivity is restored.
Logging Not Enabled
Set the SDK’s log level to Logger.Level.BASIC to observe tracking behavior via Logcat. Without this, it is difficult to confirm whether events are being collected or sent.
Batch or Interval Settings Too High
For testing purposes, avoid using high values for batching or request intervals. These settings delay transmission and make debugging harder.
3. Reporting & Visibility Limitations
Even if tracking works correctly, the data may not be visible immediately in reports:
Standard Reports Update Hourly
By default, Mapp Intelligence updates its reports every 60 minutes. If you have just performed tracking actions, wait at least an hour before checking standard dashboards.
Use Live Analytics View for Immediate Results
If your account includes Live Analytics, you can monitor events in near real-time. Contact your account manager to verify access.
