Permission Management in Mapp Engage defines what users can see and do within the platform – both through the user interface and API. Instead of assigning permissions directly to users, Engage uses a combination of roles, permission scopes, and credential records to manage access securely and efficiently.
This area is divided into six sections:
Group (General) – Set baseline permissions across all groups
Group (Specific) – Fine-tune access at the individual group level
Group (Override) – Apply exceptions using system-wide roles
System – Control access to administration and platform-wide features
Contact & Guest – Manage access to contact data and guest users
Credentials – Store and reuse encrypted access data for external systems
By assigning well-scoped permissions and managing sensitive data securely, you ensure structured, compliant, and transparent workflows across your teams.
Why use structured permission management?
Assign access based on team responsibilities and system roles
Protect contact data and technical settings through clear boundaries
Simplify audits and ensure compliance with traceable access logic
Prevent errors through restricted editing and export rights
Use encrypted credentials for secure external integrations
