Goal

View all messages sent to a specific contact.


Background Information

The Message History window lists every message a contact has received from you. In this window, you can:

  • See all messages received by the contact.

  • See how many times the contact received the same single message, including automated single sendouts such as birthday or transactional messages, some API-triggered messages, and system messages.

  • Search by message, by sendouts from a specific group, or by a specific time frame.

  • Check whether the contact opened or clicked a message.


Procedure

  1. In the main navigation, go to Audience > Contact Management > All Contacts.

  2. Find the desired contact in the table. Use the table header fields to search by name, address type (“email,” “SMS,” or “mobile app alias”), or external identifier.

  3. Expand the context menu in the Actions column next to the selected contact, and click Message History. The Message History window opens and displays all messages received by that contact.


Important

If you delete a message from Mapp Engage:

  • The message statistics are deleted. You cannot view or download statistics for that message.

  • The message content is deleted. You cannot open the Message Preview window for that message.

  • However, the message still appears in the list of sent messages in the Message History window.
