# Events

You can use events to react in real-time when one of your contacts performs an action. The system monitors your contacts to determine when they complete the event. When they do, they move to the next step on the whiteboard plan.

Events are divided into these sections:

[Communication](/v1/docs/communication-events)

[System Activity](/v1/docs/system-activity)

[External Event](/v1/docs/external-events)

[Other](/v1/docs/other)
