There are several reasons why a campaign or channel might not display any traffic in Mapp Intelligence. Use the checks below to identify the cause.
1. No campaign activity or traffic in the selected time range
Before checking Mapp Intelligence, verify in your campaign management tool (for example, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, or a display network platform) that the campaign actually ran and generated clicks or impressions.
If no users interacted with the campaign, no data will appear in Mapp Intelligence.
Also, ensure the selected reporting period in Mapp Intelligence covers the campaign’s runtime.
2. Tracking not active or pixel not firing
Open a campaign landing page and test it with the Mapp Cloud Debugger. Check whether tracking requests are sent successfully. If you don’t see any outgoing requests, tracking may be blocked or misconfigured.
Typical causes include:
The Mapp Intelligence tracking pixel or Tag Manager container is missing on the page.
Consent or script blockers prevent data from being sent.
The pixel fires on some pages but not on the campaign’s landing page.
3. Missing or incorrect campaign parameters
Campaign tracking often relies on Media Codes (URL parameters such as wt_mc=summer_sale). If the Media Code is missing, altered, or doesn’t match the configuration, Mapp Intelligence can’t attribute the visit.
Key things to check:
The parameter is present and transmitted correctly when the landing page loads.
Spelling and capitalization match the configuration (case-sensitive).
Redirects or short links don’t strip or overwrite the parameter.
The campaign rule in Marketing Configuration recognizes the pattern (e.g. wt_mc=facebook.*).
Other data sources such as Page, Link, Event, SEO, or Social Media can also be used, but the Media Code is the most common and reliable.
4. Excluded or filtered traffic
Your own test visits may be excluded from tracking.
Check Mapp Q3 > Configuration > System Configuration > Data Collection to see whether your IP address or domain is excluded.
Traffic excluded here never appears in campaign or channel reports.
5. Existing data assigned to another channel
When you create a new automatic channel, Mapp Intelligence applies it only to newly detected referrers or media codes.
If a referrer was already classified elsewhere (for example under SEO), it remains there until you move it manually.
You can reassign it via:
Mapp Q3 > Configuration > Marketing Configuration
Import and Export > Export
Edit the entry in Excel (for example, gemini.google.com)
Re-import the file with the new channel assignment
After the next data update, traffic appears under the new channel — including past visits that match the referrer.
