Small change, significant impact: As of today, you can apply the exact number of change (Δ delta) next to the percentage value in your analyses. Both values appear in one column to show the comparison value. This enhancement enables you to run even more meaningful comparison analysis and view the changes in your data in exact numbers. Sort your comparison by the delta to evaluate which pages or products show the largest increase or decrease for a metric.

Key Benefits

  • Run better comparison analyses.
  • Gain more meaningful insights.
  • Sort the analyses by the exact number of change.
  • Display the percent value as the secondary information or the opposite way.

What's Changed?

Previously, the comparison analyses included the change in percent. Sometimes the percent value is not enough to interpret the data in a meaningful way. A change of 100% sounds good, right? But such an increase might have been caused by a small number, for example of orders. To understand the value thoroughly and gain real insights, the exact number of change is a crucial information to evaluate your success.

Both values, percent and exact value, are now available in one comparison cell. Define which one is the primary value according to your needs. In exports the the value of your choice is the one to be shown.

Limitations

For the comparison analyses, only one y-axis is available for the chart visualization at the moment. Soon the tool supports two x-axes for the chart of the comparison analyses. Then you are able to combine the percentage and the exact value simultaneously and display the compared data in a useful way. We keep you posted.

Spring time is cleaning time. So Mapp has some fresh improvements to share. We made some changes to the csv and excel exports. All calculation triggering elements are now included in the export files, like live and raw data variants of Analyses, Sparklines and KPIs. This "facelift" comes with stability improvements and eliminates export inconsistencies.

Key Benefits

  • Live Data Sparklines and KPIs are now included in your csv or excel export files.

  • For exported Sparklines a column is added to include the comparison dates.

  • Raw and live data KPIs are exported without dimension column and footer.

What's changed?

  • Sparklines can be compared more easily. Sparklines include the comparison dates, just like these dates appear in the front end on mouse over.

  • Raw and live data KPIs are exported without a dimension column.

Last year in August, Mapp introduced new dynamic time ranges to choose from to better narrow down your analysis results. Today we are happy to announce further improvements and enhancements to the time settings. This would not have been possible without your valuable feedback. In our ongoing effort to make your work easier and your analyses even more reliable, we provide you with additional dynamic time ranges and comparison periods. As of today, you can find the newly added comparison time ranges for the current week and month and the respective time frames in the previous year in your account. Happy analyzing!

Key Benefits

  • Run meaningful comparison of current week and month with previous year.
  • Use these comparison periods in Comparison Analysis and Sparklines, and KPIs.
  • No need to wait for the week or month to end to analyze your success.

What's Changed?

To compare an ongoing week or month with the previous year was not possible before. The time range for the previous year pulled the data for the whole week which made a meaningful comparison challenging. In the table below you can check what information is available after this update:

New Time RangesChanged Time Ranges

Current week until yesterday

Current week, previous year → Current week until yesterday, previous year
Current month until yesterday

Current month, previous year → Current month until yesterday, previous year

You used the time range "Current week, previous year" in stored analyses? No worries. The time range changes to "Current week until yesterday, previous year" automatically.

Key Benefits

  • Shorten the URL in your SMS Message with one click
  • No need to use external services
  • Gain more space for the meaningful content in your SMS message
  • Reduce risk of SMS concatenation

How does it work?

  1. Create your SMS Message as usual in Mapp Engage.
  2. Enter the original URL you want to use in the Content step of the SMS creation wizard.
  3. Click on the new UI option Shorten Links.

Our customers spoke up and we've heard you loud and clear. As we are closely working with our customers and evaluating their feedback on Data Streams, we are happy to announce that we released extensions to the available data as well as some improvements on handling of that data in our processing pipeline.

Key Benefits

With this update, our customers that use Data Streams will have the following extensions and improvements in their data:

  • The “Action” request with the name “webtrekk_ignore” is used to avoid generating real action requests that are shown in the Analyses, but to pass relevant “Action” context related information (e.g. action parameters) to Mapp. Prior to this update, this information was missing in the data. It is now available.
  • Internal Search Phrases (page.internalSearchPhrase) are now available under Page related information.
  • External Search Phrases (page.externalSearchPhrase) are now available under Page related information.
  • A new field called (session.requestNumber) is now available under Session related information in order to properly detect begin of a session as well as the order of requests per session.
  • Prior to this update, User categories and/or CustomerId were not available in the stream in most cases. The reason was due to the internal handling logic that the final customer was determined at the end of the session only. This behavior is changed and this information is also currently available.

Quick Overview of the Changes

In the table below you can check what information is available after this update:

With this feature you could get your very own AI Marketing Analyst – a leading edge technology build in your Mapp Intelligence solution. Customer centricity is not just another buzzword for you, and you want to grow your business? Then our sophisticated predictions could be the right thing to enhance your company’s competitive advantage. Mapp's AI Marketing Analyst creates pre-defined user segments. You can use them to analyze and engage prospects and customers based on their conversion probability, churn probably, predicted next order value and the predicted customer lifetime value. These 4 types of user-based predictions can help you make better informed decisions, optimize your marketing campaigns and create more personalized experiences for your customers.

Key benefits

  • Gain actionable insights and improve marketing campaigns by applying pre-defined user segments
  • Predictions and segments are available for 4 important KPIs that are crucial to every business:
    • Churn probability: the likelihood that a potential customer will not return to your website
    • Conversion probability: the likelihood that a user will convert within the next 30 days
    • Customer lifetime value: the predicted revenue a user is going to generate within the next 12 months
    • Next order value: the predicted value of the next order, if the user would order
  • Create and deliver more personalized content like special offers, banners or even newsletters
  • Combine it with Mapp Engage, a powerful marketing automation solution from our growing Mapp family

How does it work?

In order to make using predictions easier we now provide easy-to-use segments with 3 scores: low, medium and high. No business is like the other. So, we don't believe in one size fits all. Whether a predicted value is high or low is calculated for each account individually. For predicted conversion rate, next order value and customer life time value, the high segment marks the top 10% of all users within the last 12 months. For churn prediction, the best segment is the lowest, i.e. 10% of all users ranked by churn probability. The medium segment takes into account the 1130 percentile of users ranked by the predicted values. The low segment contains all other users, that is 31100 percentile.

We provide dashboards and tips for each prediction to give you a quick overview of how many visitors belong to a given segment and how the values are distributed. Just filter the visitor metric down with the appropriate segment as is done in the dashboards.

This new feature will give you more precise control regarding user roles. In Mapp Intelligence, it has already been possible to grant access to some of the analyses to specified users. Now you can do more: Based on the existing role and right management, it is possible to set up access rights for any metric and dimension in your Mapp Intelligence account – regardless of them being predefined or customized. Thus, figures that a user is not allowed to view will be locked in all Reports and Analyses.

Key benefits

  • You decide who has access to certain metrics and dimensions
  • Users spend less time searching and can navigate easier as they get a personalized view of the account
  • This way, you can customize and view restrictions for better compliance with any individual security regulations
  • The user receives immediate notifications if he does not have the required permission

Availability

Extended user role management will be rolled out gradually and made available to all customers by the end of April.
As a Mapp Intelligence customer, you will be able to take advantage of it in your account. As soon as the feature is activated, the access rights for all existing roles will be automatically set to Full access. If you do not want to restrict any user roles, you do not have to make any changes.

How does it work?

Note that you require admin access to the account to manage users. In order to find the new feature, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your Mapp Intelligence account
  2. Navigate to the "User Management > Roles" and scroll down to Dimensions and metrics configuration
  3. Here you can switch the bar from Full to Custom. Now you can select the dimensions and metrics that should be available for users in this role, simply by checking the boxes

Dimensions and metrics are always grouped. You can either select a single element or a group. For custom elements like parameters and categories, giving access on a group level might save you time in the future. You won't have to adapt role settings, once you've created a new element.
