Goal
To add contacts automatically to a group that you use to send mobile push notifications. Using the below configurations, the contact is added automatically as soon as they launch your app for the first time.
Background Information
In Mapp Engage, you send mobile push notifications to a group.
In this procedure, you create an event-based automation when a contact launches your app for the first time. The event-based automation adds them to the sendout group.
After you set up this automation, you do not need to take any further steps to update the contacts in the group. Only use this group for messages that you send in the Mobile Push channel. You need to create automation for each app.
Prerequisites
Create the group that you use to send mobile push notifications. For instructions, see Create a New Group.
Procedure
Define the module settings as follows:
Event Module
Field | Entry |

Name | Enter a name for the module. |
Event | Select Profile Data Changed (New) (C). For more information, see Profile Data Changed (New) (C). |
Profile Change | Select Specific. |
Select by Profile Value | Click Add more. |
Parameter 1 | Select <App name> (display name) |
Event-based Job Module

Name | Enter a name for the module. |
Job | Select Add Contact to Group (C). For more information, see Add Contact to Group (C). |
Contact | Select the Use Event Parameter check box. |
Group Name | Select the group that you use to send mobile push notifications. |
Add Contacts | Select the Without Notification option. |
Selection | Leave empty. |
