Goal
Insert a personal coupon code into an email or SMS message.
Prerequisites
A coupon list with enough codes for all recipients exists. See Create and Manage Coupon Lists.
You have one of the permissions 157, 158, or 159. With permission 157, you only see your own coupon lists.
Procedure
Create or edit an email or SMS message.
Click Mapp Engage Variables.
From the Category drop-down list, select Coupon.
⇒ The coupon lists are shown. The number in brackets is the number of remaining codes.Drag and drop the coupon list into the message.
⇒ Mapp Engage inserts the coupon variable, for example<%coupon.welcomecoupon%>.Preview the message. The preview shows the preview text of the coupon list instead of a real code. By default, this is the list name followed by
_previewCoupon.Send the message or save it as a prepared message.
⇒ During sendout, each recipient receives a different code.
Note
If you insert the same coupon list more than once, the message shows the same code in each place. To include several different codes, insert a variable from a separate coupon list for each code.
Additional Information
If a contact forwards the message with the Forward Message link, the new recipient receives a new code from the list. To hide the coupon in forwarded messages, see Insert a Link to Forward an Email Message.
