Contacts open the mobile version in their browser with a link in the email. --- ## Background Information You mark content as PC content or mobile content with InsertIf tags. Content that is not marked appears in both versions. The email in the inbox shows the PC version. Mapp Engage provides the mobile version as a web page. Contacts open it with the **Read Message Online - Mobile/HTML** link, or **Read Message Online - Mobile/Text** in text emails. > [!NOTE] > Note > > To open the mobile version, contacts need the group permission 606 **Messaging: View Messages Online**. Enable this permission for the group role **Normal Recipients**. --- ## Procedure ### Mark the Mobile Content In the HTML code of your email, place the content that is only for the mobile version between the following tags: ```plaintext <%InsertIf device="mobile"%>  Mobile content <%/InsertIf%> ``` ### Mark the PC Content Place the content that is only for the PC version between the following tags: ```plaintext <%InsertIf device="pc"%>  PC content <%/InsertIf%> ``` Content outside these tags appears in both versions. ### Add the Link to the Mobile Version 1. Click **Mapp Engage Variables**. 2. From the **Category** drop-down list, select **System Links**. 3. Drag and drop **Read Message Online - Mobile/HTML** (or **Read Message Online - Mobile/Text** for text emails) to the top of the email. ⇒ The variable inserts a sentence with the link to the mobile version. You can change the text. 4. Send the message as usual. ⇒ The inbox shows the PC content. When contacts click the link, the mobile version opens in their browser. --- ## Related Topics - [Optimize Emails for Mobile Devices](/v1/docs/adapt-emails-to-mobile-devices-and-clients) - [Insert a Read Online Link](/v1/docs/insert-a-read-online-link) - [Mapp Engage Variables - System Links](/v1/docs/mapp-engage-variables-system-links) - [Personalization Rules](/v1/docs/personalization-rules-insertif-insertelse)
