Overview
A group attribute is a property field used to store information that applies uniformly to all recipients within a specific group. Unlike profile (or contact-specific) attributes that vary for each individual, a group attribute holds a single value valid for every contact in the group. This data is group-specific and non-recipient-specific, making it a valuable tool for managing consistent information across group members.
Key Characteristics
Uniformity: A single value stored in a group attribute applies to all group members.
Group-Specific: Attributes created for one group cannot be used in messages sent to a different group.
Versatility: Ideal for storing data such as promotional offers, event details, or pricing updates.
Common Use Cases
Group attributes are ideal for storing frequently changing, non-recipient-specific data. Common use cases include:
Dynamic Pricing: A travel agency might use group attributes to store current flight and holiday prices. These prices can be updated regularly and included in newsletters for seamless communication.
Event Details: Event organizers can save details like dates, venues, or ticket information in group attributes, ensuring all recipients within a group receive the same updates.
Promotional Offers: Retailers may store current discounts or offers relevant to a particular group, simplifying the update process across multiple campaigns.
