It allows, for example, the following analyses: - Which films are viewed? - How far are films viewed? - How do films add to the success of my website? --- ## Media The dimension "Media" is the base for all media-related analyses. - For each media, further information can be tracked via [categories and event parameters](/v1/docs/categories-and-parameters). ### Details ![](https://cdn.document360.io/554b9b98-6720-4d8b-9919-c7b203d72648/Images/Documentation/image(259).png) The following information can be tracked: - Access of media, playback period, and playing time. - Events like play, pause, stop. - Bandwidth, volume, and more. Media Tracking supports common web and app-based media players. > [!NOTE] > Note > > For the technical documentation, see [Media Tracking](/docs/media-tracking). ### Analysis Available in the navigation section *Navigation > Media*. For worked examples of this analysis, see [Navigation Analyses](/v1/docs/navigation-analyses-mapp-intelligence#11-video-analytics). --- ## Media categories Media can be categorized. This allows a generalized examination. A medium can be allocated to a value in a media category. **Example:** | Media | Media category "MC1 - Main area" | Media category "MC2 - Subarea" | | --- | --- | --- | | 54812 – Sport.Fussball.Goal of the month 11/2016 | Sports | Football | | 62219 – Music.Rock.Beatsteaks | Music | Rock | ### Good to know - Categories are read out automatically only on the first access of a media item. Later changes are not applied automatically. - Media without an assigned media category appear as `-`. ### Analysis Available in *Navigation > Media Categories* (for the data type Text). ### Setup & best practices - [How to set up categories](/docs/how-to-set-up-categories) - [Import data via Excel file](/docs/how-can-i-import-data-via-excel-file) --- ## YouTube plugin Embedded YouTube videos can be tracked automatically using the [YouTube Plugin](/v1/docs/youtube-plugin), without manual configuration of play, pause, seek, or position events. > [!NOTE] > Note > > For a full overview of available plugins, see the [Plugins](/v1/docs/browser-plugins) section.
