# Overlay

Overlay placements are used to determine how **Layers** are displayed on the website. These placements allow for precise customization of the layer’s appearance and behavior, ensuring that it fits seamlessly into your website’s design and functionality.

## Configuration for Overlay Placements

To configure an overlay placement, navigate to *Marketing Automation > Placements > Overlay*.

Here, you can customize the following settings:

- **Size of the Overlay**: Define the dimensions (width x height) of the overlay in pixels.
- **Background Transparency**: Adjust the transparency level of the overlay background using a slider.
- **Overlay Position**: Specify where on the page the overlay will appear (e.g., top center, bottom right).
- **Preview**: View a real-time preview of the overlay, considering its size, position, and content.
- **Show Closing Button**: Enable or disable a close button for the overlay. If disabled, users can close the overlay by clicking outside it.
- **Track Conversions**: Activate this option to track conversions triggered by the overlay. This is particularly useful if the overlay content is designed to encourage direct purchases.
