    Reactivate Contacts by Category

    This procedure reactivates all contacts in a certain response category, across all Mapp Engage groups.

    Background Information​

    A deactivated contact no longer receives messages from any Mapp Engage group or channel. A contact is automatically deactivated in the Mapp Engage system after the email address generates a specific number of responses.

    The Mapp Engage interface does not offer an area to reactivate contacts system-wide. This procedure requires a bit of a workaround.

    Procedure

    A) Create a Segment

    1. In the ​top navigation​, click ​Audience​ > Segmentation > Selection​.

    2. Click ​Create​.

    3. Enter a name for the selection.

    4. In the ​Basis for Condition​ area, select ​Profile​.

    5. In the ​Attribute​ drop-down menu, select ​System-wide Deactivated (S)​.

    6. Click ​Create​.
      ⇒ A new condition is added to the selection.

    7. Set the selection condition to ​= Yes​.

    8. Select ​Save.

    B) Transfer the Segment to a New Group

    1. In the ​top navigation​, click ​Audience​ > Segmentation > Selection​.

    2. In the ​Actions​ menu of the selection you created, select ​Calculate​.
      ⇒ Mapp Engage calculates the number of contacts in the selection.

    3. In the ​Actions​ menu of selection you created, click ​Transfer​.
      ⇒ The ​Transfer Selection​ window opens.

    4. In the ​Target Group​ area, select ​New Group​.

    5. In the ​Email Address​ input field, enter an email address for the group.

    6. In the ​Group Name​ input field, enter a name for the new group.

    7. In the ​Notification Address​ input field, enter the email address to receive notifications about this group.

    8. To begin the transfer process, click ​Transfer​.
      ⇒ The system transfers the contacts as indicated. A status message is sent via email to the address defined in step 7.

    C) Reactivate the Members

    1. In the ​main navigation​, click ​Audience​ > ​Deactivated​.

    2. From the ​Group​ drop-down list, select the group that contains system-wide deactivated contacts.
      ⇒ The ​Deactivation Summary​ window opens.

    3. In the ​Actions​ menu of the response category you want to reactivate, click ​Reactivate​. Mapp Engage asks you to confirm the group-wide reactivation. Click ​OK​.
      ⇒ The contacts are reactivated in the group. The contact can once again receive messages from the group.

    4. Mapp Engage asks you whether you want to reactivate the contacts in this response category system-wide. Click ​OK​.
      ⇒ The contacts in the selected response category are reactivated in all Mapp Engage groups. The contacts can once again receive messages from any group in the system.

    5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all the response categories you want to reactivate.
