Mapp Engage allows data to be imported and exported via Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). Engage can load data to and from your SFTP site, or Mapp can provide you with a dedicated, managed SFTP account.
SFTP or SSH File Transfer Protocol allows the transfer of files between servers over a secure connection.
Please note that despite similar naming, SFTP is not compatible with the older FTP protocol
No FTP support
Legacy FTP protocols (FTP, FTPS…) are no longer supported on Engage.
Specifics for Mapp-managed SFTP accounts
Authentication
By default, accounts are created using username and password authentication. Optionally, an account can be set up using public and private keys.
You’ll need to generate a public and private key pair and transfer the public key to Mapp. This will be set up on an existing SFTP account. Once installed, only connections matching the corresponding private key will be authorized.
SFTP IP restrictions
For added security, access to an SFTP account can also be restricted to a list of provided IP addresses. Only connections from the specified network will be allowed to authenticate, and connections from outside the specified network will be rejected.
You can request restrictions related to one or several IP addresses or provide a range of IP addresses in CIDR format.
Mapp managed SFTP account data retention
Data will be stored on the account for a pre-determined amount of time. The maximum storage duration is currently 60 days but can be reduced on request.
