Overview

Several factors determine the language of the system message sent by Mapp Engage. The system aims to deliver messages in the language that best matches the recipient’s profile, falling back through a defined sequence when no direct match is found.

Language Logic

The following checks are performed sequentially to evaluate the language of a system message:

  1. If the default language is set, the message is sent in the default language.

  2. The system checks which language and/or country is saved for the recipient:

    • If the saved recipient language or country  exists as a system message language, the system message is sent in the language of the recipient's profile (language or country).

    • If neither the country nor the language of the recipient exists as a system message, the message is sent in the default language. If the default has not been set, the message is sent in English.

  3. If no recipient language or country information is available, the group language is checked:

    • The language of the group to which the system message is sent is available as a system message language. The system message is sent in the language of the group.

    • The language of another group to which the recipient belongs is available as a system message language. The system message is sent in the language of the group.

  4. If the group language does not match the system message language, the system is checked and used as the language of the system message.
