Unsubscribe All Inbound SMS Numbers

Goal

Automatically unsubscribe contacts from a Mapp Engage group when they send an incoming SMS to the group.

Background Information

With this configuration:

• Every inbound SMS to the group triggers an unsubscribe.

• Messages are not filtered for specific keywords.

• Unsubscribes are recorded in group statistics.

• Mapp Engage sends unsubscribe instructions to the mobile number that sent the SMS.

• The system message SysMsgUnsubscribeInstructions includes a code and a link to a webpage where the recipient must enter the code to complete the unsubscribe process.

Important:

Each SMS group supports only one reply handling setting. If you use this unsubscribe method:

• Contacts cannot subscribe directly via SMS to this group.

• SMS contacts must be imported into Mapp Engage via file upload.Your title goes here

Prerequisites

You must enable the system message SysMsgUnsubscribeInstructions for SMS. For instructions, see System Messages via SMS.

Procedure

1. Go to Audience > Group Management > Groups.

2. In the Actions column next to your group, click the edit icon.

3. Go to the Reply Handling tab.

4. Expand the SMS section.

5. From the Replies drop-down menu, select Send Unsubscribe Instructions.

6. Click Save.
