You store the element once and reference it in as many messages as you need. --- ## Prerequisite The element exists in the Content Store. For how to add elements, see [Content Store](/v1/docs/content-store). --- ## Copy the Placeholder 1. Go to *Content > Content Store*. 2. Click the element. The **Details** section opens below the list. 3. Under **Placeholder for Email**, copy one of the two placeholders. | Placeholder | Inserts | | --- | --- | | `<%InsertCSE id="1234"%>` | The element itself | | `<%InsertCSELink id="1234"%>` | A link to the element | The number in the placeholder is the ID of the element. It is shown at the top of the Details section. --- ## Insert the Placeholder 1. Open the HTML email. 2. Paste the placeholder into the HTML code where the element should appear. 3. Save the email. At sendout, Mapp Engage replaces the placeholder with the element or the link. > [!NOTE] > Note > > Landing pages use the same placeholders. You find them in the Details section under **Placeholder for Website**. --- ## Related Topics - [Content Store](/v1/docs/content-store) (file types, size limits, expiration) - [Compose Content Store Element](/v1/docs/create-new-content-element-window) - [Add and Configure Images in HTML Emails](/v1/docs/insert-images-in-an-email) - [Add Attachments to an HTML Email](/v1/docs/add-an-attachment-to-a-message)
