Most tracking areas let you capture additional, business-specific information beyond the data Mapp Intelligence collects automatically. You add this information through two mechanisms: categories and parameters.
Both must be configured before data collection starts. Depending on the values they hold, they become a dimension (text values) or a metric (numeric values) for analysis.
Categories
Categories track static information. They can be tracked via the pixel or imported.

Parameters
Parameters track dynamic information. They can only be tracked via the pixel, with the exception of e-commerce parameters. Multiple values can be submitted for each parameter at the same time.
