    Purpose​

    The content store is a central storage area for different types of content in Mapp Engage. In the content store, you can upload:

    • Images

    • Text files

    • Media files

    • HTML segments

    Once saved, you can easily reuse content store elements when you create email messages, CMS messages, and landing pages.

    What can I do in this window?

    • Upload new content store elements.

    • Edit, delete, and manage content store elements.

    • You can change the settings of a content store element, such as setting an expiration date or changing the character encoding.

    • Filter the content store elements shown on the overview by various criteria.

    Tabs​

    The content store overview provides different tabs for each type of media. The ​All Files​ tab displays all content store elements on one tab.

    Description

    ​Images​

    Displays all image elements in your content store. A card for each image lets you more easily locate the image you want to select or edit. If available, each card provides the following information about the image:

    • Thumbnail view

    • Name

    • Creation date

    • Expiration date

    • Dimensions

    This tab displays all elements with the MIME type:

    • image

    ​Text​

    Displays all text elements in your content store.

    This tab displays all elements with the MIME type:

    • text

    ​Media ​

    Displays all media elements in your content store.

    This tab displays all elements with the MIME types:

    • video

    • music

    • audio

    ​Other​

    Displays all other types of elements in your content store.

    This tab displays all elements with the MIME types:

    • application

    • drawing

    • message

    • model

    • multipart

    ​All files​

    Displays all content store elements.

    Actions​

    Description

    ​New Content Store Element​

    This opens a window where you can create a content store element. Here, you create the name and description of the content store element and select the file that you want to upload. You can also create an HTML block in this window. For more information, see Create New Content Element (window).

    Edit​

    This opens a window where you can edit the content store element. Here, you can edit the name and description of the content store element or select a different file to upload. For more information, see Create New Content Element (window).

    ​Export​

    Exports the selected content store element to your local computer.

    ​Preview​

    Opens a preview of the content store. The preview displays the following information:

    • File name

    • Image preview

    • URL for download

    • Placeholder to insert the content store element into an email

    • Placeholder to insert the content store element into a landing page

    ​Settings​

    Opens a window where you can edit the settings of the content store element.

    The settings include the following information:

    • Content Store ID

    • Owner

    • Name

    • Contributor Email

    • Due Date

    • Type

    • Visible to Everyone (yes or no)

    • Creation Date

    • Expiration date

    • Encoding

    • Status

    • Category

    ​Copy​

    Creates a copy of the content store element.

    ​Comment​

    Allows you to add a comment to the content store element. Use the comments to store information about the content store element or to share your ideas or feedback with team members. For more information, see ​Add Content Element Comment (window).

    ​Delete​

    Deletes the selected content store element after a confirmation prompt. You cannot restore deleted items.

    Description

    ​Name​

    This shows the name of the content store element. The owner creates the name. You can change the name of the content store element at any time. The name does not have to be unique. To change the name, edit the content store element.

    When you upload an image to a CMS paragraph, Mapp Engage generates the name of the content store element from the file name.

    When you upload an image during HTML email creation, Mapp Engage generates the name of the element name from the image name in the HTML. For more information, see ​Store Email Images to the Content Store Automatically.

    ​ID​

    Shows the ID of the content store element. When you create a content store element, Mapp Engage assigns the element a unique ID number. You can use this ID number to search for the element anywhere in the system.

    ​Description​

    This shows a description of the content store element. The owner creates the description. To change the description, edit the content store element.

    The description is inserted as ALT text when you add an image from the content store to a message. Alt text replaces the image when it is not available, such as when images are turned off in the recipient's inbox.

    ​Creation Date​

    This shows the date the element was added to the content store. The calendar icons filter for content store elements created within a specific date range.

    ​Expiration Date​

    This shows the date when the content store element expires. After the element expires, it can no longer be used in messages.

    ​Status​

    This shows the status of the content store element, which is set in the Settings window. The contributor sets the status to indicate whether the element is ready to be used in a message.

    A content store element can have one of the following states:

    • Open

    • In Progress

    • Ready

    ​MIME Type​

    Shows what type of content the element contains. For example, the content store element can be an image or a text file. For more information, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_media_type.

    ​Size​

    Shows the size of the content store element in bytes.

    ​Tags​

    Shows any tags that have been assigned to the element. A tag is a keyword that you create and assign to objects in Mapp Engage. Use tags as a flexible method to organize and search for your content store elements. You can add multiple tags to a content store element.

    ​URL for Download​

    Shows the URL of the location where the content store element is stored on the Mapp Engage server.

    ​Placeholder for Email​

    Shows a placeholder that you can use to insert the content store element in an email. For instructions, see ​Use a Content Element in an Email.

    ​Placeholder for Website​

    Shows a placeholder that you can use to insert the content store element in a website or landing page.

    ​Preview​

    Shows a preview of the image.

    ​Dimensions​

    Shows the width and height of the image element in pixels.

    Change Display Options

    Setting

    Description

    ​Show​

    Controls whether the table displays active or archived entries.

    ​Filter ​

    It filters the entries according to the values in the filter fields. Multiple filter criteria can be combined.

    ​Only Automatic​

    Filters for content store elements with expiration dates that are set to ​Automatic. These elements expire 6 months after their last use in the system.

    ​Remove Filter​

    Removes all filters and displays all available entries.

    ​Visible Rows​

    Changes the number of rows displayed per page.

    Navigates to the next or previous page of results. The arrows appear when not all entries can be displayed on one page.

    ​Select All​

    Selects all visible entries.

    ​Delete​

    Deletes the selected entries after an additional confirmation question.
